The Animal Rescue Foundation, Illinois, ARF-IL, a local Wheaton, Illinois animal rescue organization is so grateful for their volunteers that they are hosting their 2013 Annual ARF Volunteer Appreciation Dinner at Cozymel’s Mexican Grill, located at 311 East Loop Road in Wheaton. This event is scheduled for Sunday, February 17th from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. CST.
Each year the board members of ARF-IL invite their faithful volunteers to get together at a specified location for food, fun and camaraderie. The head team members want to thank those that have given this rescue organization, and the animals that have been saved, their time and selflessness, whether it is to provide a foster home for the animals, help out at adoption events, fundraise, promote the organization, feed and groom the animals in their care, help with rescue endeavors, or a wide variety of other jobs behind the scenes that many are never aware of.
This event is truly a celebration of the people that make Animal Rescue Foundation, Illinois the rescue organization that it has become. Whether or not the volunteers are currently active, they will not want to miss out on this day of merriment. The party is a way to reconnect with old friends and meet and get to know new ones. In addition, the volunteers will get to learn about all of 2012’s great accomplishments (including adopting out about 600 dogs and cats!) while learning about the new and exciting plans for 2013!
When volunteers work in conjunction with one-another toward a common cause, they become like family. In many situations, entire families participate as one cohesive unit; caring for and finding the perfect home for animals in need. ARF volunteers are one-of-a-kind and many families that have adopted animals from the group have commented to this end. It is truly endearing to view young children learning the art of truly caring for homeless animals. Once a person gets involved, animal rescue seems to be in the life-blood of those volunteers both young and old and lasts throughout their lifetimes.
It is not often that volunteers get such a wonderful ‘thank you’ opportunity as this. Perhaps that is why people come from far and near to don the royal purple. This has been the occasion since 1985 when ARF-IL began and as far as they are concerned, they plan to be together as a compassionate family well into the future.
So ARF volunteers, mark your calendars and respond by February 8th. You will be so glad that you did!
