2013 Alaska roller derby all-star team: coach

See also

There were quite a few individuals who garnered votes for coach of the year in Alaska during this vote. But the one who claimed the most was Athena Latina. There was only one quote about her coaching, so I'll share the rest of the comments on her later on (oh about somewhat of a dead giveaway).

"Team captain, injured at the tournament last year. Rather than just sitting it out and having a pity party, she came back after collarbone surgery to take on the job as training coach for the team. She also goes to other league functions, helping to maintain a good level of derby love and camaraderie when possible. That's what a coach should do! Stand up and support others. It's not about you, it's about the team." - Anonymous

If you have a picture of Athena Latina you would like me to post on this article or if you have any comments about her coaching prowess, feel free to shoot me an email at and I'll add them to this article as soon as I possibly can.
