If you're anything like me, a long time viewer of The Young and the Restless, you're probably sitting on the edge of your seat, waiting for the next episode of the show to air.
Here's what I see going on this winter of 2013:
Anyone who saw the January 2nd episode (aired January 1st in Canada) saw this whole other side to Adam. He has become the saviour of the characters of this soap. He saved Chelsea from her previous lifestyle. He felt the need to save Sharon for mistakes he made that concerned her. And now, out of nowhere, he saved Jack. Today, Adam proved to be a real friend to Jack. He got Jack out of the pickle he was in, and then he took charge, in order to get Jack help for his addiction problem. Adam is now in a position to take over Newman Enterprise, however, I am torn between how this storyline will play out. Will Adam take over the company for himself? Will he help Jack succeed in his battle against the Black Knight? Or is Adam secretly working with Victor, as we've seen in the past?
With regards to the Winters family, I can see Lily falling for the ever so charming Tyler. However, I am almost certain that there is going to be a new distraction for Cane. Possibly Sharon?? Cane recently interviewed Sharon to return to her position at Jabot. I can't really see Lily and Cane permanently splitting at this point, perhaps they are just facing temptations and will eventually find their way back to each other.
If Sharon returns to her position as the face of Jabot, that leaves her in close working quarters with Adam. I don't think Adam is completely ready to let go of Sharon so I imagine we're going to see a real struggle within Adam based around his feelings for his wife and his ex-wife.
I see Sharon moving on with Alex, the new cop in town, questioning her son, Noah. I've said it all along. Sharon needs to distance herself from the Newman men and this could be the start of something new.
Squeaky clean Avery has skeletons in her closet and they are about to fall out. Does this spell trouble for her and Nick? How is this going to affect Summer? Does this leave Nick chasing Sharon yet again?
I see Tucker trying to become a better man. I think he is going to continue trying to build a relationship with his mother and son. I can see him aiming for a relationship with Jill, but who knows if that will work out. I'd personally like to see Tucker fall for Esther and bring her out into the limelight. We need to see a softer side of Tucker in order to have his family take him in.
I can see Michael and Lauren's marriage being tested as their son, Fen, acts out, much like Kevin did in his earlier days. Speaking of Kevin, I think him and Chloe are going to be digging themselves into more trouble, but having fun while doing it.
As usual, Valentines Day is around the corner and we've seen far too many Y&R weddings surrounding the occasion. This year, Nikki and Victor plan to marry on Valentines Day. History repeating itself again, a Valentines Day wedding on the show, plus yet another Nikki/Victor wedding. For some reason, I am not so certain this wedding is going to take place exactly as planned.
I do sense that there may be a PHACK wedding in the future. Boring! But that's how I think this Jack storyline is going to play out. Phyllis and Jack are going to be each other's rock in their time of need.
So there you have it! Above is what I am expecting to see in the next few months. No matter how each storyline plays out, I can guarantee that what Josh Griffith has up his sleeve for us is going to be ever so exciting. Sit back and enjoy the show!
