2013-2014 U.S. Open Cup for Arena Soccer action heats up this weekend

The 2013-2014 U.S. Open Cup for Arena Soccer continues this weekend with action from around the country. Harrisburg Heat defeated the Harrisburg ReAL Thursday night by the score of 9-3 and will face the defending Arena Cup champions the Detroit Waza on Saturday. The winner will face the Cleveland Freeze who defeated the Cincinnati Saints to advance to the quarterfinals last week 10-6. Locally, the Sacramento Surge will have to contend with the Yamhill County Crew who will make the road trip from McMinneville, Oregon this Saturday night. The game will be held within the confines of Estadio Azteca in Sacramento. Yamhill is 1-1-1 in the PASL-Premier whilst the Surge are 0-7 in League play.

In other bracket action, the PASL expansion team the Wichita B-52s will face off against the Premier League's Denver Dynamite on the 22nd. The winner will advance to the next round and will face either the Tulsa Tea Men, B-H United or the PASL team the Tulsa Revolution. Later on in day the A.A.C. Eagles will face the Chicago Mustangs (they advanced when the T.O.S.B. Football Club forfeited their game). Next week's action in the Arena Cup tournament will feature the San Diego Sockers taking on the Ontario Fury and the PASL's Las Vegas Legends will take on the 2013 PASL-Premier League Summer champions The Las Vegas Knights. The winners of both games will meet each other in the next round.

There are a few tickets still available for this Saturday's Arena Cup action. The Sacramento Surge are looking forward to playing in front of a packed house and are looking forward to advancing to the next round. The winner of tomorrow night's game will take on the Bay Area Rosal.
