2012 Westminster Kennel Club dog show Working Group and Best in Show results

Excitement ran high on the famous green carpet of Madison Square Garden, decked out for the 136th Westminster Kennel Club dog show final competitions on Tuesday, Februar 15, 2012. Scarlett the Boxer took her spot in the ring for the fourth time in the competitive Working Group, after winning Best of Breed earlier in the day.

Working Group Results

Unfortunately, Scarlett -- formally known as GCH Winfall Brookwood Styled Dream -- did not win the Group, taking a Second place for the fourth year running. Of the 28 breeds competing, the Working Group winner was the lovely Doberman Fifi, GCH Protocol's Veni Vidi Vici -- or "The Fifinator", as she's known to her fans. Group Third went to the Alaskan Malamute GCH Catanyas Latin Lover, and Group Fourth was the Standard Schnauzer GCH Pepper Tree Zorro v Morgenwald.

Fifi went on to shine in the Best in Show ring, where she faced the other Group winners: from the Sporting Group the Irish Setter, GCH Shadagee Caught Red Handed; from the Hound Group, GCH Raydachs Layig With Fire v Gleishorbach SW, a Wirehaired Dachshund; from the Terrier Group the Kerry Blue Terrier, GCH Perrislbu Kennislain's Chelsey; from the Toy Group GCH Palacegarden Malachy, a Pekingense; from the Non-Sporting Group the Dalmatian GCH Spotlights Ruffian; and from the Herding Group GCH Babheim's Captian Crunch, a German Shepherd Dog. Judge Mrs. Cindy Vogels had the task of crowning just one dog Best in Show, and in the end she chose the Pekingese, GCH Palacegarden Malachy. Malachy won the Toy Group at Westminster last year as well; he is the fourth Pekingese to win Best in Show at the Garden, the previous one in 1990.

Video of the Breed, Group and Best in Show judging is available on the Westminster Kennel Club website for those who missed the broadcast.
