Located in Sonoma Valley, California, Infineon Raceway is a 2.52-mile, 12-turn road course that once went by the name Sears Point Raceway. It has a permanent seating capacity of 47,000, but temporary structures and hillside seating bring raceday capacity to over 100,000. The site is also home to a quarter-mile dragstrip.
Infineon Raceway hosts NASCAR, the Indy Racing League, and the NHRA. Built and opened in 1968, the road course has also hosted the SCCA, the USAC IndyCars, AMA Superbikes, and the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series.
The major series events on the 2012 schedule include: the West Coast Moto Jam (AMA Pro Road Racing), May 4th through 6th; the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival (historic and vintage cars), June 2nd and 3rd; the Toyota/Save Mart 350, featuring the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and the K&N Pro Series West, June 22nd through 24th; the NHRA Sonoma Nationals, July 27th through 29th; and the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma, featuring the IZOD IndyCar Series, the SCCA World Challenge, the Formula Car Challenge, and the Historic Grand Prix, August 24th through 26th. Tickets are now available for all these races at www.infineonraceway.com.
