2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid: Don’t count out the Hybrid just yet Denver

Back in November of last year I gave a report on the all-new Camry SE for Denver buyers. This week we’ll take a look at the 2012 Camry Hybrid and see what important changes have been made. The 2012 Camry Hybrid has been fully redesigned and is even better than before.

Don’t count out the Toyota Camry Hybrid just yet Denver. With so much competition out there in the mid-size sedan category, Toyota had to do more than just give the Camry a quick refresh and call it a new car. Even though the 2012 model shares the identical dimensions with its predecessor, the 2012 Camry Hybrid is all-new.

Although there were not radical changes on the outside this year, the new sedan has made significant improvements, and the single biggest is in what Toyota designers did to the cabin. The first thing you notice when you sit in the seventh-generation Camry is the quality of materials. There is no rental car feel to be found anywhere.

The previous use of hard plastic is replaced with complementary dash textures, soft-touch materials everywhere, decorative stitching, and handsome two-tone leather sport seats.

Inside, the Camry's cabin feels roomier and is much more comfortable. This Camry XLE came with an eight-way power heated driver seat, four-way power passenger seat, and leather trimmed Ultrasuede sport seats. In the rear, the Camry comes with a 60/40-split fold-down rear seat.

For 2012, Toyota moved the hybrid components from the trunk to under the hood which freed up additional space in back. The Hybrid trunk now offers a truly useful 13.1 cubic feet.

Click here and we’ll look at the options and features and see what improvements have been made to the Hybrid drive system.
