2012 Riley County Veterans Day parade in Manhattan

The Flint Hills Veterans Coalition will be sponsoring this year’s Veteran’s Day parade on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 9:30 AM. The parade route will begin at the Sears parking lot at the Manhattan Town Center and take 3rd street to Poyntz, passing through downtown Manhattan, and ending at 14th street.

There will be a review stand in front of City Hall. The theme for this year’s parade is “Treasure Your Freedom — Honor Our Veterans.” Participating in the parade this year will be elements of the Big Red One, stationed locally at Fort Riley.

Prior to the parade there will be a biscuits and gravy breakfast at VFW post 1786, located at 212 S. 4th street at 7:00 AM. After the parade is over, there will be a post parade ceremony at 11:00 AM in front of City Hall.
