2012 New York All Star: Brazilian Nut #16 (Photos)

Sources tell me that this was Brazilian Nut’s first year as a Gotham Girl All-Star. The way she fits easily into the jammer rotation of the W.F.T.D.A. champions is impressive for any skater, much less a so-called rookie.

Nut has the fluidity and agility we’ve all come to love from Gotham. If she was previously a Wall Street Traitor, than she must have absolutely thrown herself into training and competition in order to make it among the ranks of the best in the world. She belongs there.

She is light on her skates and bold in her movements; unafraid to go for the hole that isn’t even there yet. Perfectly in line with the mindset of her team mates, Nut is able to capitalize on blocks and picks set by her offense as their happening instead of having to wait to see where the opportunity will open. Sometimes this approach backfires, but Nut is one of the most tenacious skaters on the flat track in the world. She does not quit and she does not stay down. She is sharp, quick and aggressive.

For me, she was one of the most fun to watch during the weekend in Atlanta. You can't help but root for her - she's so feisty! Also, anytime you add a new face onto an iconic roster, and you see how hard she worked to get there... you want that kind of player to stick around.

Brazilian Nut is a fierce competitor. She is the bravest player I know. She throws her entire body and mind into the game with zero fear. She has a sharp mind for strategy. She is constantly watching derby play to see how the game is evolving and how to improve her game. Fearless!!!! – Pippi Strongstocking
