2012 New England All Star: Space Invader #1978 (Photos)

Boston! Boston!

Here is our second (but not final) Boston Derby Dame of our New England All-Stars. I also have to mention that Space Invader confirms my theory: All derby girls who wear goggles or glasses on the flat track during bouts are badass.

Space Invader is another one of those skaters that I am really glad made the team, because she is not the superstar you first think of when you hear “Boston Massacre”. Space Invader is that solid skater who can jam her way through high level packs with her balance, bursts of speed and confidence.

Watching her compete, you see she has excellent command her long legs and can establish her position against any blocker (since she’s not afraid to simply step in front of them). On her home team, the Cosmonaughties, Invader strikes fear into the heart of her opponents. Watch out for Invader as a member of the Boston B-Party as well ripping it up with quick feet and hard fought-for points.

Space Invader is a doll. She is all business on the track and she is a natural athlete. I have to take 3 strides for each of hers! She is a great and supportive teammate and I believe she is the future of jamming in New England. – Lil Paine
