2012 Mid-Atlantic South All Star: Holden Grudges #63 (Photos)

Some people know her as “Nut”.

Holden Grudges has been a part of East Coast derby for years and she’s known for skating ridiculously low, being an amazing positional blocker, being powerful and taking her pants off during Champs 2011.

As a part of the Charm City Roller Girls, Grudges was an important part of the 11-person team that won the Glendale Invitational bank track tournament in the spring of 2012 (which everyone assumed they were going to lose). Then at the Sugarbush Showdown, Grudges used her hips to help earn Charm the bronze medal and a spot at Championships for the third year in a row.

Grudges is one of the first skaters that I remember studying when I began skating. Everyone marveled at how compact she can make herself while jamming, and I made it a goal to have a stance as low as her. She’s not just all about getting low, however. When she dives into a pack, she is able to pick which blockers to ricochet off of as a manner of getting through unharmed.

Mostly, Charm City uses her as a blocker so that her positional skills and brute strength can be used in full force. When she teams up with other powerhouses like Colleen Best: jammers beware. Her booty works as a separate unit to keep the opposition behind her.

Thank you to photogs Dave Wood and Tyler Shaw for the photos!
