Buster has made it onto the All Star list two years in a row and with good reason. She is one of the core members of a strong team of girls known as Salisbury Roller Derby. While most of her team mates are considerably taller and more overtly muscular, do not second-guess Buster.
Buster is not only quick of foot, but she is able to dance and slide through packs like few others. Her smaller frame allows her to take advantage of holes in walls that don’t look like holes. Opponents are constantly being fooled by her movement; she is a master at pulling the over-committal of opposing blockers. On top of her fancy jam skills, as a blocker herself, Buster is lethal. She can drop from front to back to front quicker than you realize and in the same motion knock your jammer back with her.
Off the track, she is a committed to her team as anyone. She is one of those grateful spirits that you meet rarely in this life. Having overcome great difficulty in her own life, you know instantly that she is a survivor. She appreciates all life. And she will have your back in an instant. I have only gotten to be around her a couple times, but it is her old soul and wise eyes (despite her youth) that endear me to this generous and courageous skater.
She's one of the most graceful and ferociously determined skaters I've ever had the pleasure of watching. She accepts no reason to be anything less than the best that she can be. She takes challenges head on and looks at each setback as a way to show that the greater goal can always be accomplished. She carries herself with poise and confidence, but always shows the warmth and kindness that she is famous for.
