This girl is all over the track. Blocker. Pivot. Jammer. When she is on the track, she is one to look out for.
Meggo, with her long legs and high jumps, is a force to be reckoned with on Shore Points Roller Derby. She is a leader on the track, despite what may LOOK like a mousy appearance. Her passive blocking is dangerous and she knows how to build and HOLD a wall. Even if you think you have slipped by her on the track, her long legs are sure to trap you and drag you back.
I haven’t gotten a chance to share the track with Meggo, but she is a name that is referenced often in regards to the strongest Jersey skaters. I’ve seen her at ECDX on challenge bout teams as well and I have to say – I can’t wait to play with or against her. She is a skater that enjoys her time on the track, she never takes it too seriously but she is always competitive and playing her best.
She is easy to respect and to admire when she skates. She has a natural agility and ease when she’s on the track. I say natural because it looks so, but from the stories I hear from team mates and those who have known her, she is a workhorse during practice as well as after hours.
Meggo started playing roller derby in 2008, but she was basically born on skates. She started by figure skating and playing roller hockey. She is now president of the league and captain. She also runs the fresh meat program. She also does some reffing from time to time. Basically she does everything. She is one of the top jammers on the team. She jukes through a pack like it’s no one’s business, lol. She is also awesome to be in a wall with. She works very hard for Shore Points on and off the track. – Mommy Too Tough, Shore Points
