Universal Orlando announced several new additions resort-wide for 2012, dubbing this year as the "Year To Be Here". On top of all the current entertainment offerings for guests, Universal is adding several new items through out the resort. There will be something for every family and every age resort-wide.
Here's the highlights from today's announcements. Coming in 2012 is:
- Hollywood Drive In Mini Golf (Citywalk) - We already know all the details about the new mini golf experience coming to Citywalk (click here to read more about it), but Universal Orlando announced an opening date for the new experience. The mini golf course will be ready to go next month. Stay tuned to see photos from when it opens!
- Blue Man Group (Citywalk) - A few days ago, I posted an article about the Blue Man show going "dark" (no shows) with the possibility of changes coming to the show. The rumors were right! Blue Man Group will be under going some changes and will be ready to go on February 9th.
- Spiderman Enhancements (Islands of Adventure) - Universal previously announced they would be making enhancements to their "Amazing Adventures of Spiderman". The ride will feature the highest definion available now and will be ready by March. Keep your eyes sharp for new additions.
- Universal Cinematic Spectacular: 100 Years of Movie Memories (Universal Studios) - The new lagoon show for Universal Orlando will run nightly beginning this Spring through Summer, and will run on certain nights during the rest of the year. The show will feature water and fire effects, and some of Universal's timeless films.
- The Universal Superstar Parade (Universal Studios) - Beginning this Spring, a new parade will take to the streets of Universal Studios, featuring Dora the Explorer, Hop, Despicable Me, and Spong Bob Square Pants.
- Minion Mayhem (Universal Studios) - The Despicable Me ride now has an official name, Minion Mayhem. The ride will feature voice acting from characters who played in the original Despicable Me movie and will be ready for guests some time this Summer.
- Wet & Wild Waterplay Area (Wet & Wild) - Universal has announced they will be showing some love to Wet & Wild by adding a new water play area. The area will be the most elobrate and interactive water play area in Florida. This will be ready this Summer.
