2012 Hot rod builder of the year

Car enthusiast and entrepreneur Dave Lane has been named the 2012 Builder of the Year by the Grand National Show.

Dave Lane is the owner of FastLane Rod Shop in Donahue, Iowa. All work except the interior is doen in house. Frames are built, wheels are machined, all the mechanical work is completed from scratch.

Just three years into Lane's career as a hot rod builder, his car won the 2003 Goodguys street rod of the year. He only improved winning another two of same awards in 2008 and 2011 and Goodguys hot rod of the year in 2010. If that isn't enough , he has won a total of 63 major national awards.

Dave Lane also has a Master's degree. It just took him twelve years to realize what he really wanted to do with it.

His 1932 Ford names "Delivery", the 2008 Goodguys street rod of the year took two years to complete. Lane does pretty much all the work on every car by himself. A true perfectionist.
