Each year women pledge to lose a little weight and get in shape, but one set of muscles is sadly neglected when making that list of New Year’s resolutions; the kegels!
As women age, the kegel muscles lose strength and atrophy from various life events like child birth, approaching menopause, and even excessive weight. Without strong kegel muscles, women are prone to urinary incontinence which makes life an embarrassing hell every time they cough, sneeze, or laugh.
What can be done?
Exercise those kegels! Like all muscles, they need a work out to remain strong. While sitting at a desk, in the car, or even standing, women can do these exercises. Simply squeeze those muscles responsible for holding the urine in (just like you do when you have to pee and want to make it to the restroom). Do this three times in sets of 15 squeezes daily. That’s all it takes to pump up your vag. No one will even know you’re doing them!
Tightening up those lady-zone muscles will not only reduce episodes of urinary incontinence, but will also improve ones sex life. A tighter vagina makes for hotter sex for both her and him. It’s a win-win situation.
For those over-achievers who like to kick their workout up a notch, try one of the three below listed kegel exercisers; I’m talking bar-bells for your ball-buster, baby.
The GyneFlex (think Thigh Master for your vulva)
The Intimina (a mini-medicine ball)
All three are ‘insert and squeeze’ exercisers. Sure, you can’t carry these to the office, (just try explaining that one to your boss), but once you’re home, the Olympic training can begin. With just a little effort, your vag can go from Squirticus to Spartacus; slayer of men, in no time!
I love to add a little humor here and there, but there’s really nothing funny about urinary incontinence. Don’t neglect your kegels. Start an exercise regimen today and take back your life from those embarrassing and worrisome moments when control is lost.
