The 2012 Daytona 500 is just a few days away, and NASCAR fans are ready! Racing fans will be out in full force this weekend in Daytona, Florida to cheer for their favorite drivers and to witness a little history when Danica Patrick makes her NASCAR debut. The Las Vegas odds for the Daytona 500 don't favor Patrick, but that doesn't seem to faze her.
“Do I think I can win the Daytona 500? Yeah,” Patrick told reporters at Daytona International Speedway. Hey, why not? Last season Trevor Bayne shocked the racing world by winning the 2011 Daytona 500 in only his second Sprint Cup start.
When it comes to a lot of men (and women) Patrick may be better known for her racy photo shoots and GoDaddy.com commercials, but don't be fooled by her looks, when it's time to race she is all business. She may be only 5' 2" but big things come in small packages.
"I hope Danica does well." Pam B. of Warren, Mi. said. "I love that she models and has become a star, but it would be great to see her win a few races so people won't say she is just there for her looks."
One thing is for sure, Patrick will have a lot of fans this weekend in Daytona cheering her on!
