2012-13 NFC Wild Card preview: Minnesota @ Green Bay

Two rivals will battle in a NFC Wild Card contest on Saturday night as the Green Bay Packers play host to the Minnesota Vikings.

Records: Minnesota 10-6, Green Bay 11-5

Kick-off: 8 p.m. EST

Television: NBC

Spread: Green Bay by 9.5

Over/under: 46

Last meeting: Minnesota 37, Green Bay 34 (2012)

Passing: The Vikings are averaging 171.9 yards per game while Green Bay is putting up 253.1 per game.

Rushing: Minnesota is averaging 164.6 yards per outing while the Packers are averaging 106.4 yards per contest.

Passing yards against per game: The Vikings are averaging 244.3 yards against per outing while Green Bay averages 218.3 yards against per game.

Rushing yards against per game: Minnesota is averaging 105.8 yards against per game; meanwhile the Packers are averaging 118.5 yards against per outing.

Thoughts: The Vikings defeated Green Bay last week to end the regular season and secure a playoff berth. That game was played in Minneapolis but Saturday’s game with take place in Green Bay. I don’t see Minnesota beating Green Bay two weeks in a row so look for the Packers to win this one. On the flip side, the spread is very high so give me the Vikings with the points as well as the over.
