2011 Veterans Day Parade in Longmont (Photos)

At 11:11am on 11/11/11 Longmont will again honor military veterans with an annual parade on Main Street in downtown.

It's the least we can do to show our appreciation and like the stories we often hear from veterans over the years...it has a lasting impact. Including that of a Purple Heart veteran who blew a kiss to a little girl who held a "Thank you" sign. Those around her were brought to tears at the gesture.

This year, citizens of Longmont are planning to stand and sing the Star Spangled Banner at the parade in hopes of it becoming a patriotic "flash mob" of sorts. Please join them if you are lucky to be witness to it. Here are the lyrics.

In addition, the Longmont Times Call reported that our American Legion Post 32 has secured a flyover of two F-16 fighter jets over the parade.
