No. 1:

Apple's iPhone 4S:  The iPhone 4S is undoubtedly the most impressive product of the year.  It's expensive, no doubt, and an outstanding final product by the late Steve Jobs.  Since its release this past summer, this multimedia device has made its rounds as one of the most attractive gadgets in the marketplace.

The iPhone 4S as the bestselling cellphone in history because it's really not a cellphone.  It's much more than that.  It's a computer, it's a tablet, it's an e-book reader, it's a GPS navigator, it's a virtual assistant, it's a camera, it's a calculator, it's a map -- it's everything.  That's how much Apple has over-delivered on this product.

No. 2:

Amazon's Kindle Fire:  What do I love about Kindle Fire?  Its $200 retail price is much easier on anyone's budget than Apple's more expensive iPad or iPhone offerings.  Amazon sold over a million Kindle Fires every week throughout December 2011.

The Android-powered, 7-inch device is what an effective tablet should be.  It allows you to browse through hundreds of educational or entertainment content while on the go.  Additionally, it's not just an e-book reader.  Along with text content, users can bring with them television shows, movies, music and all sorts of digital content.  We've evolved from a world of book lovers into a world of media lovers.  Amazon made a move for a practical, mobile device and they got the formula right.

No. 3:

Xbox Kinect:  Alright, Microsoft's Kinect was released in 2010 but the $149.99 motion / voice sensor really took off in 2011.  This is an impressive device because users can engage in all sorts of activities, from art projects, to gaming, all the way to research and lab experiments.  Gamers get an immersive experience at home such as with popular dance or sports games.

Microsoft has sold millions of units around the world and Kinect appears to be a real game changer for the multimedia industry.  It brings to life some of the science fiction, virtual reality movies from the 1980s and 1990s.  Kinect connects virtual reality to the real world.
