The full scale US release of the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze is upon us and today, Chevrolet begins the television advertising campaign of the new Cruze. To help promote the 2011 Cruze on the new TV ads, Chevrolet has gotten Detroit’s own Tim Allen is featured do the voiceover work. Allen is best known for his work as Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor on the Detroit-based sitcom Home Improvement but recently his voice is more recognized for being the voice of the Toy Story trilogy’s Buzz Lightyear.

The first two of the new 2011 Chevy Cruze TV ads are titled Dear Corolla and New Kid. The first, needless to say, focuses on the Toyota Corolla and some of the items available for the 2011 Cruze that are not present in the Corolla. The second, New Kid, compares the entry of the 2011 Cruze into the small car segment to a child’s first day at school. They then mention the accolades paid to the new Cruze by several publications before the Cruze gets home – only to find their entire property has been toilet papered.

The 2011 Chevy Cruze is set to hit the market later this year as it replaces the Chevrolet Cobalt as the new low price small sedan (with rumors of a coupe and hatchback). The amount of engineering that has gone into the new Cruze will allow this new small sedan to compete much better in the segment than did the Cobalt and Cavalier before it. Production of the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze begins at GM’s Lordstown, Ohio plant tomorrow.
