These days, when it comes to award shows, I typically only tune in for the red carpet and then I check out. The 2011 American Music Awards or AMAs are no exception. There are a variety of reasons, but primarily, these shows feel like a regurgitation of something I have seen many, many times before (and not in a good way). Generally, the only thing that is refreshing are the red carpet stylings of the stars and up and coming stars and starlettes. We get to see the new fashion trends and even a sneak peak of a designers new line, if we are lucky.
I have to say, the red carpet stylings of this year's AMAs left a lot to be desired. There were many lovely dresses that were on the wrong person; for example, Taylor Swift's lovely pale-gold, sequined gown completely washed her out. Another fashion faux pas is that the accessories absolutely did not pair well with an outfit, which threw the entire outfit off. Within those parameters, very few made my best dressed list, not because they necessarily wore bad outfits, it is just these stars were not styled well.
With that caveat in place, here are the Best and Worst dressed of the 2011 AMAs.
