The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards doesn’t air until Sunday, September 12th, but Kanye West has already turned to Twitter to rant about last year’s “dis” to Taylor Swift. In anticipation of encountering the sweet songbird of country again, West has issued a new apology, plus an on-going rant about how the situation has affected him over the last year.
Below are Kanye West’s most recent Twitter posts regarding the VMA Awards and Taylor Swift:
-
“I’m sorry Taylor.”
-
“I want to win their hearts back so I can continue to bring my take on culture to the masses with a clean opinion.”
-
“I want to help starting with the music and ending with the smile.”
-
“I wish they all knew how much I really cared about music and pop culture and art and people’s feelings.”
-
“I wish I could talk to every hater face to face and change their opinion of me one conversation at a time.”
-
“I’ve hurt, I’ve bled, I’ve learned. I only want to do good. I am passionate. I am human. I am real. I wish I could meet every hater.”
-
“Taylor loves rap music. I love country music.”
-
“Why was it made into such a race issue? Taylor loves rap music. I love country music.”
- “A year later, where do we stand.”
Kanye West obviously seems nervous about the upcoming MTV VMA Awards. Last year, he caused a hurricane of controversy when he grabbed the microphone from Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech for Best Female Video. He proclaimed to a stunned audience, "I'm sorry, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time." His protest against Swift was not well received at all. West stood briefly on the stage while a completely silent crowd digested his comments. Audience members then began to clap in support of Swift after West left the stage. Although Taylor Swift tried to play it cool, sources said she was crying off stage right after the incident.
Kanye West is anxious to move forward for the 2010 MTV Video Awards. He and Taylor Swift are both expected to be in attendance for the upcoming annual awards show. Can Taylor Swift forgive and forget? Should she be expected to do so? How will the show’s producers handle the entire situation? No one knows for sure, but the drama should provide a spike in viewership for this year’s VMA Awards..
The MTV Video Music Awards will air on Sunday, September 12th at 9/8c on MTV.
