National and Local 2010 Summer Reading Programs for Kids
Borders has just announced the 2010 "Double-Dog Dare" Summer Reading challenge for kids. All children 12 and under are eligible to get a free book at Borders, Borders Express, or Waldenbooks by reading at least 10 books this summer. (Why stop at 10?)
Keep track of all the books your child reads this summer. As soon as he/she has completed 10 books, go here to download and print the Double-Dog Dare form. Complete the form and take it to a Borders bookstore near you by August 26, 2010, and your child can then claim his/her free book. Kids can choose from the following titles, while supplies last:
Ramona the Brave by Beverly Cleary (ISBN 0380709597)
Miss Daisy is Crazy! by Dan Gutman (ISBN 0060507004)
Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown (ISBN 0060097914)
Dear Mr. Henshaw by Beverly Cleary (ISBN 0380709589)
The Ruins of Gorlan by John Flanagan (ISBN 0142417440)

I like the summer reading program they have at our local library. They give out prizes all the time. Dillon won a digital camera one year. :-)
This sounds like a great deal! It's good to see you publishing again on Examiner!
I love reading programs. My mom had me in all the reading clubs..and it was the best thing she ever did! Books rock!
Reading is so important to encourage and you stated much info here.Thank you for sharing this program.
As an educator, I simply love this!
While Zach is reading for this program, maybe you will be able to write more!
excellent
I used to love our library's summer reading program, but I probably would have bankrupted Borders. ;) I hadn't heard of Hoot!- I need to get it for myself. :)
