This year marked the 10th anniversary of the Ride Across Maryland. Not only did participants raise a full $100,000 more than 2009's "Ride Across Maryland" but this year, cumulative donations reached the $2,000,000 mark.
Talking to Dick before the ride, he indicated that a big goal for the 2010 "10th Anniversary Ride" was to reach the $2 million mark. Congratulations to Dick and his staff for reaching that lofty goal!
Saturday morning, after converging on the Mall in Columbia from various points around the state, rider's departed for Ocean City shortly after 9:00. In a long procession that took over fifteen minutes to cross the Bay Bridge, bikes thundered onto Maryland's Eastern Shore. Just about two hours later, the first bikes began to roll into the Francis Scott Key Resort. At first, rider's arrived in small groups. Before too long the groups became packs. The 2010 Ride was well attended, and enjoyed by all who participated.
There was a lot going on in Ocean City this past weekend, and bikers seemed to be taking advantage of all that the beach resort had to offer. The OC Air Show, featuring the Airforce Thunderbirds, was a popular event. The Thunderbird's put on an exciting show, flying various formations and stunts, just off of the beach.
