2010 Resolution Number Three: Tame the Bulge

Obesity, in both people and animals, leads to many health problems. The long-term benefits of your dog maintaining a healthy weight will pay off in an increased life-span, less money spent at the veterinarian, and fewer problems with osteoarthritis as your dog ages.

Resolve to feed your dog a quality diet and reduce the amount of high calorie treats.

If you chose to use treats everyday, pick low calorie treats that are good for your dog. Put some kibble in a Ziploc bag with a couple of pieces of hot dog or bacon to scent and flavor the kibble. You can then use pieces of kibble as a treat and avoid the heavily processed and chemical laden commercial treats.
