2010 Paris Motor Show: Ford Fiesta RS WRC

If you have followed the world of WRC, you'll understand why the release of the newest Ford Fiesta RS WRC car to hit the circuit is an astounding appearance. First made popular by Ken Block's Gymkhana 3 video, the modern Ford Fiesta WRC car brings the Ford rally heritage from the past to the present. Back in the day, Ford used to dominate WRC; and then Subaru showed up. Now that Subaru isn't stealing the trophies left and right, the ball is back in Ford's court. The new Fiesta WRC car cuts no corners and is a fully functioning chariot that the rally gods would love.

The Ford Fiesta RS WRC car is about as technologically advanced as rally can get. Using an EcoBoost turbocharged inline four cylinder and all-wheel drive, this is not your Dad's Fiesta from days past. The new Fiesta is a machine of speed, precision, and exquisite Ford engineering. Using direct port fuel injection, the eco-friendly WRC car has been updated to comply with the new tree hugging WRC rules.

"We're delighted to preview the Ford Fiesta RS WRC in such a prominent Motor Show as Paris. There are significant visual differences from the Fiesta S2000 base car as well as major changes under the skin. The biggest, of course, is the 1.6-litre Ford EcoBoost turbo engine - the original version of which was developed by Ford's Powertrain Engineering team." - Ford of Europe's Motorsport chief Gerard Quinn.
