2010 NFL Draft big board: Top 25 Prospects

As we head towards the conclusion of the College Football season, and the second half of the NFL season the 2010 draft will start to become the focus for some fans, teams, and players. Several NFL teams including; the Detroit Lions, Washington Redskins, Cleveland Browns, and St. Louis Rams seem to have given up on their current seasons. Now their front office must look to rebuild these teams.

While it is a little early to start doing mock drafts, since we still don’t have a clear picture who will end up with the overall number one pick, it is not too early to start evaluating the 2010 draft class. Here is a look at the top 25 college prospects, regardless of position, while these rankings are very likely to change in the coming months and weeks, this ranking will serve as a jumping off point.

  Player College Position Notes
1.Russell Okung Oklahoma State OT He is the premier OT in College Football, and after 34 straight starts is the early favorite to go number one overall

3.Taylor Mays USC FS He was a sure shot top ten pick in 2009, but returned to USC for his Senior season. Even though his Trojans are out of the National Title picture he is having a better Senior season than his Junior year.

5. Colt McCoy Texas QB Had Sam Bradford not been hurt, and if Tim Tebow was a more conventional QB McCoy would not be this high on the list. However this is a four year starter who completes 70% of his passses.
6. Trent Williams Oklahoma OT He has the ablity to maul the oppostion at the line, while he played RT in College, NFL scouts like him as a LT

 8. *Carlos Dunlap  Florida  DE  Competative and agressive, Dunlap is a rare mix of quickness, agility, athleticism, and stregnth. He just needs to be more consistent.

 9. *Jimmy Clausen  Notre Dame  QB  Sure he is the next big hyped Notre Dame QB, but Claussen is the nest of the recent big hyped QB's from this school. He will finsh his junior season with more that 7,000 yards passing and 50 TD's.

   11. *Bryan Bulaga  Iowa  OT  For a big guy he is light on his feet which allows him to mirror pass rush moves, and slide outside to cover speed rushers.

 12. * Dez Bryant  Oklahoma State  WR  He has the ablitly to catch off target passes even with a defender in his face. Bryant exploded onto the national scene in 2008 challenging Michael Crabtree as the best reciever in College Football.

 17. CJ Spiller  Clemson  RB  Spiller almost came out for the 2009 draft, and has the uncommon mix of strength and speed.  20. *Jahvid Best  California  RB  Many say he reminds them of one Reggie Bush. He would be a lock in top five if he were a little bigger and didn’t have a history of injuries. He is an electrifying runner with elusiveness that often makes tacklers miss.

 21. Tim Tebow  Florida  QB  He is a three year starter for the Florida Gators, and has played in numerous big time college games, and won a Heisman. While there may always be a debate if he is a prototypical NFL QB is QB rating for the 2009 season is 170.31.

   23. *Anthony Davis Rutgers  OT  Came to Rutgers as a Guard but slid outside to LT and looks natural on the edge. He is tall and strong and can conrol defenders once he locks up with them.
   24. Serjio Kindle  Texas  OLB  Has played a lot of DE in College, but looks like a NFL OLB. Super competative, and follows the play over the whole field. He has outstanding strenght for his size.

Nice work... Only one I disagree with is Bryant... I think he's a top ten prospect, and to me, will go in the top ten.... Bradford I wont argue with the position, but if he has a good combine, he could near a top ten selection as well.
