Are you a big NBA fan?  If so, get ready for an all star packed weekend beginning on February 12 through February 14th.  The all star festivities, such as the rookie all star game, the celebrity game, the skills challenges (slam dunk, 3 point contest, and skills challenges), and the actual NBA All Star game are headed to the DFW ( Dallas Fort Worth) area.  The skills challenges, dunk contest, celebrity all stars, and rookie all star game take place at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX which is home of the NBA Dallas Mavericks.  The actual all star game on Sunday, February 14th is in Arlington, TX inside the brand new, $1 billion, home of the Dallas Cowboys.  The Cowboy's stadium has a capacity of near 100,000 people, which will break past NBA all star attendance records.  If you are familiar with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones you should know breaking attendance records or just adding excitement to a sporting event in any way possible has Jerry Jones written all over it.

The starting players for the NBA Western Conference are LeBron James, Kevin Garnett, Dwane Wade, Allen Iverson, Dwight Howard, and for the Eastern Conference are Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Carmelo Anthony, Tim Duncan, and Amare Stoudemire.  This year LeBron James broke records for most votes all time for the all star game, which is only fitting since record attendance is expected.  Mark Cuban owner of the Dallas Mavericks is known for being in the media spotlight as well.  Mark Cuban and Jerry Jones are doing their fair share of marketing this event hyping it up to be one of the premiere all star events in NBA history.

Great pix of the new stadium but what does AAC have to do with this year's game?

Alley, the AAC is where the all star events will be at such as the dunk contest and 3 point contest. The actual all star game is at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium, everything else is at the American Airlines Center.
