The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are trying to be fiscally responsible in the current economic climate. They have cut their payroll by 8%, and have focused in on keeping people coming out to the ball park.

The average ticket price at their home stadium (Angels Stadium of Anaheim) is just 20 dollars. That rates as among the lowest average ticket prices in all of Major League Baseball.

So far in 2001 that has helped them sell 87% of their ticket inventory. That also helped them lose fewer than 100k attending fans from 2008 to 2009 in the heart of the economic crisis.

Despite being three games under .500 and six games behind the division leading Texas Rangers, the Angels rank are fifth in attendance so far in 2010. Some may say that is due to their potential fan base of more than 12 million, but it seems the value of attending a Angels game is the real selling point for this club.
