Just as predicted, a warm Saturday was followed by a very chilly Sunday race morning as a cold front rolled through Houston. The breeze off the bay at Sylvan Beach only intensified the brisk conditions.

On the bright side, it was perfect racing weather, the only down side being a strong head wind during the first assent of the the Fred Hartman Bridge. Of course that was negated by a nice tail wind all the way to the finish line after the mid-point turnaround.

The results haven't been posted yet, but a race video and photos have been. It's not surprising how smoothly this event went for a first time race since it's put on by the same crew that produces the Toughest 10K and the Seabrook Lucky Trails Half and Full Marathon.

The post-race party was a hit with plenty of drinks (including beer) and food. Add to that the awesome hat, long-sleeve technical shirt, gloves, and a finisher's medal that doubles as a bottle opener, and we have what promises to be a great annual event.
