Lunging up the leaderboard 7 spots, Bub Tosh packs a punch with his signature Paycheck Punch skirt on the third stop of the FLW National Guard Western Division at the California Delta.
Heaving his hefty sack to the scale on Day 2, Bub bagged over 20 lbs of bass, bolstered by his 8.1 lb monster. Adding this to his previous punchin' haul from day one, Bub sits in second nearly 5 lbs behind the leader.
Explaining his food chain theory, Bub stated, "he is targeting bass that are feeding on bluegill that are feeding on fry" and he has found a 300-400 ft stretch of bank with just what he was looking for. The fish finding their home on that bank also found what they were looking for when Bub bounced a "Bubs Watermelon" skirt in front of them and the bite was on.
Confident in everything from his location to this technique Bub plans to return on Day 3 to the home of his eight pounder with expectations to pick up a pair to match.
If Bub hold his 2nd place spot through Day 3, he will make the final five cut and be able to fish for $50,000 on Saturday.
The FLW Day 3 weigh in will take place at 2:30pm on Friday and 4pm on Saturday.
Both remaining days at the scales will be held at Weber's Point in Stockton.
DAY 3 UPDATE
Bub secures a spot in Saturday's final five fish off.
With a 16-01 bag brought to the dock today, his tournament total tallies 53 lbs even and finds him in 5th, fishing tomorrow for $50 grand.
Also making the top five cut in order:
- 59-15 Donald Davis
- 55-14 Leon Knight
- 54-01 Jon Strelic
- 53-09 Lorenzo Rosetti
The $50,000 payout will be awarded after the final weigh in on Day 4 of the event, which will take place at 4pm on Saturday, also at Weber's Point.
Good luck to Bub and the rest of the guys in the hunt.

Bub should have one. Davis and Knight shouldnt be able to use the cables. If they got discualfied then you would have been the winner.
