There is something to be said about life as an independent. It is admirable on some levels but it can be debated that it is illogical on other levels. Regardless of where you stand on the issue of football independence, Notre Dame, Navy and Army seem to like it just fine.
This year the three programs will be the only independents in football but it is possible they could add a member to the club if BYU opts out of the Mountain West in the near future. Until then just the three of these programs will be without a conference affiliation.
Last year Navy swept the independent circuit with victories against Notre Dame and Army but this year Irish fans are hoping to take down each service academy and they will look to do it in big time venues. Notre Dame plays Navy at the new Meadowlands arena in New Jersey and will play Army in Yankee Stadium, a throwback to generations past where the two football powers would meet in the old Yankee Stadium.
Because there is no standings system for thee three programs, at least officially, I can not provide you with predictions for any league championship. But I do hope you will read up on each school and leave your thoughts and comments below or on the corresponding post.
Notre Dame | Navy | Army
