2010 Coachella lineup is announced: Jay-Z, Muse, Gorillaz

The official word is now out on this year's Coachella Music Festival lineup.  After days of speculations and the circulation of fake flyers, the lineup was unveiled on 106.7 KROQ Monday morning.  Jay-Z, Muse and Gorillaz will headline the April event this year, infusing the festival with a more contemporary vibe after the last two years, when old-school rockers Paul McCartney and Roger Waters were among the big acts in Indio, Ca.

The desert festival does promise some blasts from the past, with Sly and the Family Stone and a reunited Pavement set to play on Sunday. Other highlights include Wale, Gil Scott Heron, Corinne Bailey Rae and Calle 13.

The annual fest is known for featuring the best in indie, alternative, hip-hop and electronic musicians.  Three-day weekend passes are priced at $269, plus surcharges. Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan. 22 at 10 a.m. and are available now on layaway at Coachella.com
