The 2010 version of We are the World was recorded Monday in Hollywood.  Twenty-five years ago, the original ‘We are the World’ was recorded for famine relief in Africa. Monday, singers from all over the world gathered in Los Angeles to re-record ‘We are the World’ for the Haiti earthquake victims. Singers met at the same recording studio in Hollywood.

100 celebrities showed up for the taping. Here is a list of just a few of them: Tony Bennett, Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Vince Vaughn, Josh Groban, Barbara Streisand, and Celine Dion.

The Los Angeles Times reported: "Just as Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan descended on the A&M Studios on La Brea to sing for famine relief in Africa, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Kanye West and Keith Urban turned up at the same soundstage (now called Henson Recording Studios) to join an all-star chorus that was 100 voices strong."

"I'm standing there between Tony Bennett and Bizzy," Josh Groban said. "That's not ever really going to happen again."

The re-make of the song will be played during the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, and can be seen on NBC. The song will also be available for download on iTunes. Proceeds will help Haiti earthquake victims. The net buzz on this story is hot because many people want to hear the new version of the song.
