2010 Boston Bacon and Beer Festival

Post 390 had it right when they put Bacon and Beer Macaroni and Cheese on their menu, and now there is a unique Boston event going on in the area this month. Saturday, April 24th from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the first ever Boston Bacon and Beer Festival will be hosted by @eatBoston and SoWa Sundays at the Historic SoWa Power Station (The Trolley Barn) in the South End. With over 25 local restaurants serving up their favorite bacon themed dishes and more then 15 of New England's top breweries giving out beer samples, this is sure to be an unforgettable day, with all proceeds, after expenses, to benefit Community Servings, Share Our Strength, South End Youth Baseball, and The Juniper Fund.

Chef Will Gilson

Local funk, soul, and R&B band East Coast Soul will be entertaining the crowd with live music and there will even be local artists there showing off their work. Learn something new at pig butchery demonstrations by Chef Will Gilson from Garden at the Cellar, Vadim Akimenko from Akimenko Meats, Jamie Bissonnette from Toro  and Coppa, and Jason Bond from Beacon Hill Bistro, while you enjoy all the beer and bacon you can handle.

Harpoon Brewery, Cape Anne Brewing, and Smuttynose Brewing Company are just a few of the breweries you will find at the event and 33 Restaurant, Gaslight, The Fireplace, and Turner Fisheries are among the restaurants involved. For the complete list of participating breweries and restaurants, visit the 2010 Boston Bacon and Beer Festival website, where you can also purchase tickets for this 21+ event for just $25 per ticket.
