Dancers wearing a variety of Michael Jackson’s famous costumes re-created his many of his signature moves complete with “moonwalk” and his “patented lean” to songs Thriller,Bad,and Smooth criminal.
This was followed by the hit duet ‘Scream‘ done by sister Janet Jackson and her bother the late Michael Jackson . As Janet performed along with her brother on huge Jumbo-tron behind her.
Jackson was obviously filled with emotion reliving a song that meant so much to her and her brother the late King of Pop Michael Jackson.

Pop star Katy Perry in a white be-jeweled bustier , and skinny pants led a rousing rendition of "Queen's' “We will rock you”. She was joined by host Russel Brand. He claimed he had an amazing view from below and told Perry she had a “hole in her pants”.

The whole audience was in shock, including Beyonce. Soon the shows handlers escorted Swift back into the audience after she understandably shaken had tried to exit backstage. Quickly they shifted gears as comedian Tracy Morgan provided some much needed levity with a video spoof.
Host Russel Brand reminded the crowd this is a “night of total love in memory of Michael Jackson”. Comedian Jack Black and Gossip girl’s Leighton gave an interesting presentation in honor of his new video game , as they gave Best rock video to the band Green Day.
I CARLY’S Miranda Cosgrove and Justin Bieber introduced Taylor swift’s pre-recorded video of ‘You belong to me” filmed in the NYC subway system.
Gab Saporta and Pete Wentz of Fallout Boy gave introduction to newcomer Lady Gaga . Lady Gaga dressed in white midriff revealing outfit, with black fishnets, and thigh high boots.
She showed off her amazing talent singing dancing and playing piano, but seemed to lose the audience a bit when she was suddenly covered with blood and hung center stage for the finale .

HBO series Entourage star Jamie Lynn Siegler, and P. Diddy Combs presented the Best male video went to T.I, who was not there to accept. British band “Muse” performed their song “Uprising” outside The Walter Kerr Theatre” to their cheering fans.
Best Hip Hop video went to the always controversial rapper Eminem, who makes headlines for his relationships as much as his music. He dedicated his award to his “homey” the lateDJ AM.
Comic Tracy Morgan and Eminem awarded Best new artist to Lady Gaga in a red lace costume and crown that even covered her face. She quickly removed it and thanked her fans, family “God and the gays”.
Pink performed a fantastic “Cirque du soleil” style blind folded, and swinging from ropes in a leotard with only a bright ink patch over her left breast.

SNL’s Jimmy Fallon and Andy Sandburg were on hand to present video of the year to Beyonce Knowles for her hit single “All the single ladies”

Swift was finally able to give her acceptance speech for Best female video. She thanked everyone from her producers, to her brothers school. Viewers may have been surprised that th
e VMA’s did not extend Knowles acceptance time. I expect she will get much more than 15 minutes of fame resulting from her kindness toward Swift.
The show closed with a rousing performance by Jay-Z, and Alicia Keys together as well as a preview of the soon to be released film “This is it” featuring Michael Jackson.
