Sunday night, the 37th American Music Awards (AMAs) are being held at the Nokia Theater, and the stars showed up to walk the red carpet. Everyone is saying that Rihanna and Shakira rocked the red carpet. See red carpet slideshow of photos below.
Janet Jackson opened the annual AMAs with an eight minute song and show that includes greatest hits songs. Michael Jackson is up for five awards tonight, and artist of the year is one of them.
Taylor Swift has been nominated for six awards, including artist of the year. Swift won all of her nominations a few weeks ago at the Country Music Awards (CMAs).
Kings of Leon, Lady Gaga and Eminem are also up for artist of the year.
Eminem has four nominations, including favorite album for "Relapse."
Online fan votes will determine who wins.
Adam Lambert, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, and the Black Eyed Peas are scheduled to perform tonight at the AMAs.
