Running at the Metrodome
 Running at the Metrodome

MDRA sponsored Dome running began on Tuesday, November 24, 2009.  Dome running is open every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. though March 11th with two exceptions, Thanksgiving (11/26) and Christmas Eve (12/24).

The MDRA turns the Metrodome into the place to be twice a week during the dark, cold and icy winter nights.  Running is from 5:00-8:00 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday and it only costs $1.  2 1/2 laps around the concourse is about a mile (1502 meters on the inner loop to be exact).  Those running (or walking) sub-7:00 miles run counter-clockwise around the outside, and those running 7:00+ miles run clockwise around the inside.

Dome dates for the rest of 09' are:  December 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 29, 31 (Yes, open on New Year's Eve!)

2010 Dome dates are:  January 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28  February 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25  March 2, 4, 9, 11.

Enter gate D. You can park free in the Upper Dome Lot. If you have questions contact Rick Recker at 612-375-0805.  Check out runMDRA.org for more info on the Minnesota Distance Running Association and their programs.  And a big THANKS to the MDRA for hosting this every year!
