During a recent ship tour of the Royal Princess, I found out a lot about the ship that I wasn't aware of. Here are just a few:

The ship is now offering new (and free) on-demand stateroom programming which is offering an extensive array of movies and other programming options. The entire list of hundreds of movies include classics as well as contemporary television shows, all free to to passengers.

The Royal Princess is offering four brand-new original production shows featuring "Colors of the World", "Spectacular", "Sweet Soul Music", and What the World Needs Now".

250 blends of teas with Sommelier are also being featured on the ship. Located in the ship's central Piazza, you can enjoy pre-blended tea varieties or create their own flavors. The ship is hosting tea tastings and a new Royal Afternoon Tea Experience.

A new self-guided tour enables passengers to explore the ship's extensive art collection using their personal smart phones or tablets. It is a 30 stop tour paced at your leisure or passengers can simply scan a QR code located at each artwork, discovering interesting facts about the artist and their work.

Outdoor art installation by Marine artist Wyland. All you need to do is visit the top deck of the ship to see this beautiful piece.

Bartending shows like no other. The top-deck Seaview Bar will feature midday and sunset flair bartending shows where talented bartenders will entertain and re-hydrate their guests.

Whiskey flights at Wheelhouse Bar - inspired by the growing popularity of whiskey, the bar will feature three different whiskey flights. Passengers can choose from single malts to three "Glens".

Why not try a daily pub lunch? At the same Wheelhouse Bar, Princess Cruise lines will be offering daily pub lunches (previously offered on select sea days). Get your fix of fish-n-chips with a signature brew.

Stay in touch with a new mobile cruise ap. Princess@Sea enables passengers to enjoy daily access and updates about entertainment, onboard specials, news and weather.

New cabanas in the Sanctuary will have a Royal Indulgence Package - with a multitude of treatments available rating from $320 to over$3,000, which include all day massage treatments, gourmet food and beverage offerings.

A first for Princess is the concierge lounge for suites. Passengers can access an exclusive area to relax or work, with access to full front desk services, plus light snacks and beverages. This same area will also be used as a private disembarkation lounge for suite passengers.

Princess will be offering a large gelato menu. The new gelateria will offer over eight delicious flavors prepared by the chefs on board and offering over 20 different toppings.

Sabatini's Bites & Flights will now not only offer wine flights but will offer passengers an opportunity to sample small bites of their most popular dishes.

Watching a moving on Royal Princess just got better with their largest outdoor movie screen at sea. Located on the pool deck.

Passenger touch screen photo finder with facial recognition will make it easier for you to purchase those great photographs taken on board.

Experience the four different water and movie shows near the ship's central pool areas. These will take place daily and nightly.

Enjoy a slice, free! Alfredo's Pizzeria is the place to be if you're looking for the best pizza at sea. The venue holds 121 passengers and offers neopolitan style pizzas, calzones, flatbreads and baked pasta.
