TumbleBooks will read to your kidsZF Photography

Everyone tells parents - read to your child at least 20 minutes a day.  All parents try because they know there are great benefits to doing this.  But, sometimes it is just impossible with everything else that is going on.

Don't lay awake at night with parent guilt if you cannot carve out that 20 minutes everyday - try TumbleBooks.  TumbleBooks is a on-line reading program that is free to use on the Bayport - Blue Point Library web site.

On the home page of the library web site, click on the TumbleBooks icon and find a book that you want read to your child.  It is just like having someone read a real book to them.  There are pictures that go along with the words.  As the words are read they change color, so beginner readers can follow along.

There are books for all levels of readers and listeners.  Pre-schoolers can also easily navigate this site.  After the book is done, there are educational games your child can play that go along with the book.  TumbleBooks also has Apps for iPhone and iPod Touch, so you can read on the go.
