'20/20' and reruns win Friday ratings, 'Kitchen Nightmares' hits season high

Reruns and "20/20" ruled a slow Friday night, according to the Nielsen television ratings for Friday, January 25, 2013.

It was a very strange night overall for the numbers with a three-way ratings tie between NBC, ABC, and FOX. Meanwhile CBS finished fourth in the ratings, but first in overall viewers.

NBC ran reruns of "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" (1.0 rating in the 18-49 year-old target demographic) followed by a new "Dateline" (1.2 rating).

ABC aired reruns of "Last Man Standing" (0.9), "Malibu Country" (0.8), and "Shark Tank" (1.4, tied for best rating of the night), followed by the highest rated new show of the night, "20/20" (1.4 rating).

FOX had a new episode of "Kitchen Nightmares" (1.3), and a re-air of the first episode of "The Following," which pulled a 1.1 rating. That's a season-high for "Nightmares."

CBS topped all other networks in total viewers, even though their lineup was composed completely of reruns. CBS ran "Undercover Boss" (1.4, tied for best rating of the night and 7.07 million viewers overall), "CSI: NY" (1.0, 7.43 million), and "Blue Bloods (1.0, 7.80 million).

The CW was new with "Nikita," which drew a 0.5 rating, the best for the show this season. The CW followed with a rerun of "The Carrie Diaries" (0.4 rating).
