Two more beer pubs are about to debut in Albany, raising the number here to an estimated quarter-million such establishments in this beer-loving city.
The company is scheduled to appear before the city's Board of Zoning Appeals on Wednesday, September 11, for The Beer Belly. Plans call for a dining room, beer-tasting room, a bar with 25 or more taps, and a menu of beer-friendly foods.
For those scoring at home, BM&T Management began in the mid-'90s when Michael Viglucci Jr. opened Spinners, a pizza shop in Crestwood Plaza. Eventually, he was joined by Brian Viglucci and Tony Lounello. They ooened such places as Juniors, Cafe Madison, Pub 869, The Stone Crow and The Point Restaurant, all still in operation.
The Beer Belly is a partnership between BM&T and Joe Hinners, a longtime employee who is leading the project.
