On Jan. 15, 2 people were killed in a college shooting. According to Boston.com, two people were shot dead and a third person -- a teenager -- was injured in the parking lot of a school in Kentucky. The school was on lockdown following the shooting. Police searched the campus to ensure that the gunman was lurking. They didn't find any one suspicious. However, two people turned themselves in to police though their roles in the shootings are unclear.
"Two people showed up at the Kentucky State Police post in Hazard and said they were involved in the shooting but [it is unknown] whether they were alleged perpetrators or witnesses. State police held the two until Hazard police came and took them into custody," said police spokesman, Tony Watts.
The 2 killed in the college shooting have not been identified. It is unclear if they were students, teachers, or people just visiting the campus. The person or people who opened fire have also not been positively identified yet either. These are the very first details that have come out and while there are two people in custody it is unknown if they were the gunmen.
This school shooting is not the first of its kind. Many wonder if this was a planned attack or if this was an intentional murder. This could have turned in to a rampage inside the school but it did not. Investigators are working hard to put these pieces together.
2 people were killed in the college shooting just a day after the campus website advised students to stay away from the main campus after an "incident" occurred. No further details on that message have been released yet either.
