There is an update on the police standoff in Watts, Los Angeles, that left two people dead. The woman who survived the shooting is listed in "grave" condition, SFGate.com reported Friday.
The early morning shootout and standoff ended with the discovery of two people dead, Los Angeles Police say. SFGate reports that it began as an apparent "domestic dispute."
The case is an apparent murder suicide. LA Police say that a suspect shot at officers early Friday morning, then barricaded himself in his house, shot and injured his wife and then shot and killed himself.
Another man was found shot to death in a truck just outside the house on 115th and Grape Streets, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Police were first called out to the home a little before 3 a.m. That’s when then found the shooting victim in the truck. A man then started firing at officers, who returned the shots, police said.
The man then went back into the home. Then about two hours later, around 3 a.m., a SWAT team entered the house and found a woman shot and critically injured. The man who police say shot at them was dead. Police say that the man had shot himself.
Three children were found in the home but fortunately, they were not injured. Their ages are 1,3 and 8. Police took the children into custody until they could locate family members.
