'2 Broke Girls' season 4 premiere: Kim Kardashian lands guest starring role

Kim Kardashian is giving television comedy a try. On August 26 TVLine reported that Kim Kardashian has landed a guest starring role on the fourth season premiere of the CBS sitcom "2 Broke Girls," and she will be playing herself. Kardashian will visit the shop and give the girls a much needed social media boost to their side cupcake business. The episode, which has already been filmed, will debut on October 27 at 8 p.m. on CBS.

Kardashian announced the news on her official Twitter account, @KimKardashian, and tagged both of the lead actresses while encouraging everyone to check out the episode. In the season four premiere episode, Max (Kat Dennings) and Caroline (Beth Behrs) learn that an episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" will be filming in the area where they work and the girls want the famous family to visit the diner. Max and Caroline think the appearance will be a great boost for their business, and then Kim Kardashian really does show up at their cupcake window.

Executive producer Michael Patrick King revealed that Kardashian's appearance won't affect the direction of the new season, but provide a "silver lining" to the broke girls and they are grateful for the exposure. King talked about doing an episode about "what twenty-two million tweets would do for business" makes sense in the age of social media. Kardashian was apparently a good sport about the script, which is filled with jokes about her family. He mentioned that having Kardashian was "the cherry on top" since the episode still works even if she hadn't agreed to appear.

On August 26 Variety revealed that the Kardashian family is branching out into more television shows as "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" enters into ninth season. Kim has previously appeared on shows like "How I Met Your Mother," "90210," "Drop Dead Diva," "CSI:NY" and "Last Man Standing." Her sister Khloe Kardashian will make an appearance in the season finale of "Royal Pains" in September. The sisters will also be in "Kourtney & Khloe Take the Hamptons" which will air on E! next month.
