1st Annual Chicago Gospel Music Awards hosted by John Hannah, Pastor of New Life Covenant Church and Angela Martin, of "Angela and You for Two" on Clear Channel's Inspiration 1390, is this Friday June 13, 2014, 7 p.m. doors open at 6 p.m. The Red Carpet is 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., a who's who of the Gospel Music world is expected to show. Additional performers are Jonathan Reynolds. You've seen Jonathan Reynolds singing on Trinity Broadcasting Network, TBN, on their Praise program. Anita Wilson, a part of the Donald Lawrence network of artists. Anita also performed at Living Word Christian Center, Pastor Bill Winston's church, TBN. New Direction, Charles Jenkins, Pastor of Fellowship Chicago, the ICON Man, will perform. Dr. Bill Winston and Living Word Recording Choir, Cosmopolitan Church of Prayer Choir will also take the stage to perform at this the First Annual Chicago Gospel Music Awards.

Three pioneers of gospel music will be honored with lifetime awards for their great contributions to gospel music in Chicago and the music industry. The award recipients are Rev. Dr. Clay Evans, known as the God Father of pastors. Now, that's not to take the place of Jehovah God, the father of Jesus, its a term of endearment. The Barrett Sister and Posthumously Dr. Charles G. Hayes, founder of Cosmopolitan Church of Prayer will be awarded..

Tickets to attend the First Annual Chicago Gospel Awards is $10 for general admission and $50 for V.I.P. seating.
