This coming Saturday's forecast is calling for few showers and highs in the 70's; let's keep our fingers crossed for a dry day so we can enjoy some food, fun and bicycle safety at The First Annual Bike Day at The Easton Farmer's Market!
While driving a car requires a test and license, the only requirement for a biker is a helmet as per the PA bike laws; and that's only for the 12 and under crowd. Bicycles are considered vehicles and are subject to a set of rules of the road. Come out to the Easter Farmer's Market on Saturday, May 22nd for some bicycle safety education. The fun starts at 9AM! They'll have a basic skills course set up, safety checks with a mechanic, as well as helmet fittings! Kids will enjoy the bicycle and helmet decorating contest as well as related arts and crafts and at noon you can ride with the Mayor!
Other fun activities include Easton Farmer's Market Rainbow Scavenger Hunt, a bike rodeo, FREE helmets while supplies last, a poster contest and more! Live music by School of Rock's Bank Street Band and The Deadliners will keep you moving throughout the day. This week in the community tent you'll find members of Third Street Alliance, a wonderful organization that serves women and children in the community. Grab your bike and head out for some healthy fun!
The Market is open from 9AM until 1PM and is located at Easton's Centre Square in Downtown Easton. For more information visit www.EastonFarmersMarket.com or call: 610-330-9942. Subscribe to my column, Allentown Family Entertainment, today so you don't miss out on any of the fun!
