The Los Angeles coroner’s office announced that 1980’s teen idol actor, Corey Haim, has died. Corey Haim was 38 years old. It is speculated that the actor passed away after suffering an accidental drug overdose.

The coroner Lt. Cheryl MacWillie states that Haim died at 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California. An autopsy will determine the official cause of death. Currently there are no other details.

Haim was known for his roles in such movies as “Lucas” and “The Lost Boys.” The actor faded from the spotlight in recent years, but reemerged after an A&E reality show called “The Two Coreys,” along with friend Corey Feldman, started airing. Haim has also recently finished movies that are currently in the post-production state.

The actor struggled for years with drug problems, which he said he overcame in 2004. Corey Haim reportedly relapsed with his drug addiction, resulting in Feldman cutting ties with him. Because of that, A&E cancelled “The Two Corey” show in 2008.

Prior to this, Haim reportedly suffered a drug-induced stroke in 2001. He had also been in and out of rehab approximately 15 times before cleaning up in 2004.
