By far 195 Downtown Grill is the easiest hang out to waste an entire day and night. And is probably why there are defined locals that frequent the bar everyday--including bartender and strongest-drink-maker Kim Emerick!
It is effortless to get lured into this chic place; it's dark, has a very friendly and fun atmosphere and lots of room for parties of all sizes. There are booths located to one side of the bar, small round tables in the middle and a large outside patio over looking beautiful downtown Anaheim.
Happy hour is from 3-7pm and well worth the efforts to go. The food is amazing, domestic beers are only $2 and imports are $3. Also, the cocktails will liven up the night, as 15-year veteran bartender Kim has "free pour" and makes a stiff drink.
"I know it sounds clique," Kim Emerick said in her English accent, "but this place really is like Cheers [the 1980s TV sitcom], a place where everyone wants to know each other by name."
Unlike other bars, the bartenders at 195 Downtown Grill actually serve the customers from outside of the bar and are very attentive to the drinking crowds needs.
Angel Ureno and his companion Maria Sandoval were on their fourth visit to the bar, because it is "just chill" and wild and crazy friends Keri Berchem, Riki "Chicken Wing" Winchester and Justin Rigsby were having a great time over many beers.
Patrons were impressed that downtown Anaheim was no longer a "dump" and actually had a happy hours.
But happy hours are just the warm-up to the karaoke hosted by bartender Christy Dawn that starts afterward.
It is definitely a type of place where anything can happen.
